AMEND Takes Lead in Transforming Rehabilitation

From Amend, Dr. Brie Williams is part of a team who shares Reimagining San Quentin: Recommendations to Transform San Quentin State Prison into a Rehabilitation Center, their landmark report for the Governor’s office. Too detailed to recount in the space of these notes, the report centers three key principles:  a focus on reentry, normalizing the facilities social and physical environment, and establishing a correctional culture focused on rehabilitation. Dr. Williams’s reminds us that her role in the writing of the report has been greatly supported by the team at Amen, whose brainpower and endurance helped make the project possible!
